The hailstorm is over and your vehicle has hail damage. Now what? In a perfect world, hailstorms come with an advanced warning and everyone has a garage. Unfortunately, this is not the case and one of the reasons why hailstorms cause millions of dollars in damages every year. Follow these steps to make your auto hail repair process as painless as possible and save money, too!
File Insurance Claim ASAP
Once you realize that your vehicle has hail damage, determine if you are covered under your insurance. Hopefully, you have full-coverage insurance and not just liability coverage. If you are covered, contact your insurance company ASAP to file a claim. If your vehicle has hail damage, the odds are that a lot of other people will be calling, too. A massive hailstorm, like Denver had in 2017, resulted in over 150k auto hail damage claims. The faster you start the auto hail repair claim process, the faster you will get your car repaired. If you wait too long, it may take months to book an appointment at a body shop or paintless dent repair (PDR) shop.
If you choose The Dent Company (TDC) for your auto hail repair, we will waive your deductible and/or provide a free rental car.
There is another reason to file a claim ASAP. You do not want to go through a second hailstorm while waiting and risk your car being totaled. Damage from two hail storms may total a car that could have withstood one at a time.

I’m considering purchasing a hail-damaged totaled vehicle and have two questions for you.
1. Is it a good idea to buy a hail-damaged vehicle
2. How much does it typically cost for TDC to restore a hail-damaged vehicle to its original condition.
Thank you
Hi Jonnie!
Thanks for writing. There is nothing wrong with purchasing a hail damaged vehicle, especially if you can get it for the right price. You will just have to take the cost of repair into consideration.
It would be next to impossible to give you an accurate repair estimate without seeing your car. Can you give us a call at (866) 685-4245? We would be happy to take a look at it for you.
